At the Bertram House! This is the base of the volunteer work! If you join my team you'll be able to see this beautiful greenery anyway you want! | 1st Volunteer Meeting!Meet my first set of Volunteers (left to right): the lovely, Ben Quigley, Kate Wheeler, Me (Ariana Casella),Lucy Naughton, and Alex Ruse. It was a pleasure taking them to the Bertram House for the first time! They got to tour the facility and get a crash course on how to interact with the Dementia patients! | BINGO!Anyone have B2? Bingo is every residents favorite game, they could play for hours, and we did. We did play for hours. |

Alex's First Day!Alex and I had blast volunteering, Bingo is always a hoot! So fun! | Confirmation ClassYou can see my little head at the podium! Here I am talking to approximately 100 confirmation students about the volunteer opportunities I can give them! | PUZZLES!Everyone loves a good puzzle, except when the last piece is missing... the residents were a little disappointed |
Kate's First Day!Kate and I started our time serving ice cream to the residents, they were definetely pleased. We then hung out with the one and only Laurel and accompanied her while doing her favorite task, a puzzle! | My Advisor and IIts always a fun time meeting with my advisor, Gayle Callis! I love getting her feedback and suggestions on my project :) | BEADS!Lucy and I hung out with some of our favorite girls, Connie, Jean, Franny, Dorothy, and Trudy, we made bracelets for and with them. They LOVED it! Any bracelets that were. not taken by the end were put in the Bingo prize bin. Maybe others will win them in Bingo next weekend :) |
Lucy's First Day!Lucy commenced her first day in the lunch room! Her and I served lunch to all the residents and even helped them eat. After that we served up some strawberry ice cream... that was a hit. Later we made a bun of bracelets and watched the football game, before other volunteers came in! | Me!Today it was just me volunteering at the Bertram House. As always, it was a lot of fun! | Sugar and Spice! The Bertram House not only has residents, but it also has some mascots. Sugar and Spice are two white cats living on the third floor, don't ask me which one is pictured though! They look exactly the same! |
Bert!Another one of the Bertram House's glorious mascots! Lucky for me all of the cats came to visit me today! | A Very Awkward SelfieHere is Kate and I taking a selfie on our way-out. A very productive day filled with the biggest Bingo game I've ever had! 8 residents battled for the Bingo prizes today! | BINGO! AGAIN!It maybe a repetitive photograph, but let me tell you, for the residents, Bingo NEVER gets old! They loved the massive. game Kate and I played with them! |
The Gang is (mostly) all together!Me and 3/4 of my volunteer team spent 4 hours volunteering today! Serving Lunch, playing catch, playing Pictionary, and of course eventually going back to Bingo. | Lucy and Pictionary!Lucy and I began a game of Pictionary with the residents. They really enjoyed the game and it got their brains moving! Win win! |
